Question: Future-former Senator Gordon Smith is all over the map on issues. What is your favorite Smith flip-flop?:

Opposed drilling in ANWR in 2002, then supported drilling in 2005 & 2006.

Opposed Medicare drug price negotiation twice, then voted for it. (OK that's a good thing, but the vote failed to pass.)

Opposed increasing Minimum Wage SIX times before voting for it in 2007, with re-election time approaching.

Voted for invasion of Iraq and more than 20 times for war funding, even after denouncing the war in Dec 2006.

Opposed the Climate Security Act in 2003 & 2005, finally supporting it in 2008, an election year.

UPDATED: Too late to file to run, but you can still be appointed at the monthly CC meeting, and definitely you should write-in your name on the May 20 Primary Ballot, and get two others to write you in as well. Three write-ins will do the trick!

Fill out an application at our Headquarters located at 12250 SW Broadway, Beaverton, or
Fill out an application during our monthly Central Committee Meeting at Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue Administration Building, 20665 SW Blanton in Aloha, held on the fourth Wednesday of each month (except Dec) beginning at 7:00 PM. Doors open at 6:30pm for social time.
